My research interests lie in the ‘long seventeenth century’ (ca. 1585-1715), the history of the book, the history of science, bibliography, and antiquarianism. I am particularly interested in antiquarian and empirical writings of the 17th and 18th centuries and their emergent influence on literary activity before 1715. Authors of particular interest are Sir Thomas Browne, Francis Bacon, John Stow, William Dugdale, and Thomas Hearne.
